Hi, I’m Esona Ndongeni,

a self-taught artist from Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve always been surrounded by creativity, but it wasn’t until I found myself at a crossroads retrenching from a fast-paced career in Influencer Marketing that I discovered the true depth of my passion for art. What began as a personal escape quickly became my full-time journey of self-expression, and now, art is my soul’s calling.

My creative process is messy, imperfect, and completely unfiltered just like life itself. I don’t aim for perfection. I aim for honesty. Through every stroke of the brush, I explore emotions, memories, and the beautiful, fleeting moments that shape who we are. My art reflects time, connection, and how our inner worlds influence the reality we create. I want my work to serve as a reminder that anyone can create no matter where you’re from, or where you’ve been.

My inspiration comes from everything: people, experiences, emotions, and the lessons learned along the way. It’s the unspoken stories that resonate most. In a world obsessed with outcomes, I believe it’s the journey that matters most. And when I create, I’m focused on the process not just the product.

I didn’t always call myself an artist. But now, I know that my art is my truth, and I’ve learned that the act of doing creating without fear or expectation has its own kind of magic. It’s through that act that I’ve found my way, and I want to inspire others to do the same.

So here I am painting, dreaming, and living my truth one colourful stroke at a time.
